Fundraising
Unit Fundraising
Piggy BankThe Young Marines is a non-profit organization. Some funding for operations trickles from local Marine Corps and Marine Corps friendly organizations; however, that only covers basic operation costs. Anything beyond basic costs (field trips, in-need Young Marines or YM units, uniforms, etc.) are all funded through various fundraising events. Bake/food sales, car washes, and raffles are some of the ways the Young Marines have raised funds for their activities. We are looking for PARENT support in these events. Please check the calendar for upcoming events and feel free to ask the Fundraising UC Coordinator(s).

Contact Mr. or Mrs. Merkl at abmerkl{at}msn.com or (360) 571-9077 if you have any questions about any fundraisers.

Holiday Wreath Fundraiser
SAMPLE ONLY!!!! YOUR WREATH WILL VARYChristmas Wreath Fundraiser

It's getting to feel a lot like winter. Our winter optional fundraiser will be a wreath fundraiser. Last year this was a GREAT fundraiser.

This year you will again be able to sell wreaths two different ways:

#1 -- You can sell sponsorships for "Wreaths Across America". This is a program that places wreaths at all National Cemeteries across the U.S. Our National Cemetery is Willamette National. We will also have an opportunity to go and actually place wreaths on Saturday, December 11, 2010 as a unit.

#2 -- You can sell wreaths, swags and garland to friends, neighbors, and family members. These greenery are extremely fresh. One of our YM families kept their wreath up until March and it was still extremely fresh and great smelling.

Selling materials will be distributed at drill on Saturday, 10/2/10. Final wreath sales must be turned in at drill on Saturday, 11/13/10. Final Wreaths Across America monies and sponsorships are due by 11/29/10.

DELIVERY of wreaths to the YMs will take place at Wednesday Study Night on 12/1/10.

If you have any questions, please contact your parent fundraiser UC chairmen which are Ms. Peggy Schultz 503-314-6810 or Ms. Merilee Miller 360-450-1752.

Javafit Coffee Business
Javafit
Welcome to our unit's JavaFit Business!

Our unit is now the proud owner of their own functional Gourmet Coffee Business. Move over Starbucks! This will provide our unit a very large ongoing lifetime passive residual income. As our business grows we will have less need for some of our other fundraising activities to support our annual operating costs. Yippee!Normally building a business requires a lot of hard work and money but that is not the case with JavaFit. We can build our JavaFit business very quickly if everyone helps. Did I hear you ask how? Please read on and I’ll tell you how.

Background: Javalution Coffee Company was founded in 2003 when two (2) friends were seeking a way to stay fit, have more energy, and have a simple way to achieve their fitness goals, all without undergoing major lifestyle changes. It was at that point that they had a “Javalution” and determined that there wasn’t a better product to do that with than something that many adults enjoy every day and can’t get enough of - coffee. The JavaFit product is the brainchild of Scott Pumper, who currently serves as the company’s president. Scott was intrigued by the explosive growth of companies like SOBE and the emergence of Vitamin Water in the fortified food category and questioned why no one was doing this with coffee as a delivery system. This led to his collaboration with Jose Antonio, who as a Sports Nutrition scientist developed the formula for perfectly blended gourmet coffee with scientifically proven fortified nutrients. This collaboration resulted in the creation of JavaFit!

In January 2007 Dave Briskie, a JavaFit investor, became the company's CEO. Mr. Briskie had concluded an 18 year career which was highlighted by the merger of three different companies (two of which he was involved with since the start up phase) that ultimately became public on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. With an eye toward strategic acquisitions and merger opportunities, Javalution Coffee Company, under Briskie’s leadership, concluded its first major strategic investment by acquiring a 50% stake in its coffee roaster in November 2007. As of June 2009, Javalution Coffee Company has increased it’s stake in CLR Roasters to 85% and has now become a wholly owned subsidiary of Javalution Coffee Company.

The company started out marketing the JavaFit Functional Gourmet coffee on a retail basis in Fort Lauderdale, Florida (that is where the CLR Roaster is located). People would see it on the grocery shelves and think it was a good idea but thought it probably tasted poorly. But when they had someone in the stores passing out cups of the coffee it sold off the shelves like crazy. Scott’s plan for the company was to market world wide and he had to figure out a way to make this happen in as short as time as possible. He took his product to a marketing consulting company. With an eye towards national and international expansion goals, Javalution Coffee Company has decided to completely abandon its retail marketing and officially launched a Network Marketing Program with unprecedented income opportunities in June 2009.

There are several different ways you can help us grow our business:

1. Option #1. For me the most exciting way is to own your very own Coffee Business. Have you ever dreamed of being your own boss or maybe you just wish for a part time income to add to your current budget? With this business you can add a lifetime residual income to your family budget and you can start doing that right away. You get paid weekly so the business you do this week will give you a paycheck next week. Your initial start up cost starts as low as $135.00. What do you suppose a Starbucks franchise costs?

As part of our JavaFit team you will have teamed support 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The LCYM JavaFit family is working their business a bit different than others. We believe that if we help you to succeed, we will succeed too.

If you have visited our opportunity page you know that you only need to build 2 sales teams, 1 on your right and 1 on your left. How easy is that? Do you know a couple of people that drink coffee and might be interested in earning a good part time income? I’m sure you do and we will help you find them if you don’t. We are asked to participate in many functions in our community and we will be sharing our coffee. In today’s economy there are a lot of people looking for ways to add to their budget instead of having to cut back on their spending.

If you are interested in adding additional income to your budget or you know of a non-profit organization that could benefit from this program please feel free to contact Edna Yates at 360-263-2386 or email her at eyates{at}tds.net and she will buy you your first pot of coffee and tell you all about the JavaFit lifetime residual business opportunity.

2. Option #2. If you don’t want or need an additional income you can just go to our retail site and buy our Gourmet Functional Coffee instead of the brand you buy now.

  • If you would prefer to buy your coffee wholesale like we do, you can become a Preferred Customer by paying a $20 annual preferred customer fee. If you sign up for an auto ship of product on a monthly or bi-monthly basis, the $20 annual fee is waived. Another exciting thing about being a preferred customer is that you are placed in our binary and in the event that someday you have a need or desire to earn an extra income you will already be in our binary with affiliates below you helping to build your sales volume. Lucky you!
  • If you would prefer to not purchase your coffee on an auto ship option, you can always pay retail prices and purchase your coffee from our website as you need a new supply.

  • This fundraiser will be ongoing and as I mentioned above we will be selling coffee at as many events that we can throughout the year. This not only brings in revenue but it will help to spread the word about JavaFit and put us in touch with people that need an additional income. One person can not do all this so you will be asked to help at these events. I’m thinking that if you have to be there helping the unit make money you might as well be making money for yourself as well.

Please go to http://myjavafit.com/lcym and take a look at our retail site. Take a tour of the business opportunity at http://lcym.javafitbuilder.com.

The unit started with JavaFit September 2 and in less than a week we have 3 people in our down line and we made $700 in that week. These 3 people will be contributing to our income monthly as well as making a good income for themselves.

We’re sure you will have questions so please call Edna Yates at 360-263-2386.
    Recycling of Cans and Bottles
Help the unit by recyclingHelp the unit by collecting aluminum cans, glass bottles with deposits and plastic pop bottles. This is an easy way for us to earn money. Ask your neighbors, friends and family to support the unit by spreading the word and collecting cans. You may begin bringing the bottles and cans to our next drill. This will be an ongoing fundraiser for our unit.
