Community Service Records
All YMs should turn in their slips for community service hours to the Adjutant as they earn them. The Adjutant will maintain them on file for the fiscal year and track them in the Young Marines Online Record Book and input and certify them for the Presidential Volunteer Service Award. However, the Young Marine is responsible for obtaining and retaining, community service hour certifications until the required hours are accumulated.
In order to earn the community service ribbon, the YM needs to have performed 50+ hours of community service within any 12 month period of time. This award can be earned multiple times in a single calendar year.
In order to be promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal, each YM is required to have earned the Community Service ribbon.
